Breakfast is a brilliant opportunity to get lots of goodness into you at the start of day ahead of the looming indulgences of the Christmas season. Do your digestive system a favour and drink a glass of warm water and lemon first thing to get your metabolism going. It also gives your liver a little boost; it may need some extra help this time of year!

A smoothie is a quick breakfast that is ideal for the busy season and a brill start to the day for people who find breakfast a bit of a struggle. Avoid the Christmas food guilts by loading up on your fruit and veggies at the top of the day to get your nutrient fix for an energised day. Allowing your blender to do the ‘chewing’ eases the burden on your digestive system and the fibre that is retained helps to keep everything moving.
