screw it...

For any of you who signed up to my newsletter and read it, you’ll know that my ‘ahead of the trend’ mum in law Teresa lent me her spiralizer earlier in the summer. It has taken my love of veggies to a new level so I thought I’d share it on the blog.

So, for anyone who doesn’t know, a spiralizer is a pimped up grater that yields ribbon or noodle shaped vegetables depending on the blade that you choose. I’ve been experimenting with carrots, beetroot and cucumber making raw noodles to use in salads. The beetroot requires some sort of glove type situation to avoid stained hands, but it’s completely yummy teemed with fresh greens, pomegranate seeds, toasted walnuts, sesame seeds and a punchy dressing.

I have also spiralized sweet potatoes to make baked curly fries and have welcomed courgetti into my life with open arms. Lathered in a yummy pesto or tomato based sauce courgetti has the comfort of pasta without the bloat factor.

More positives; it’s compact, yields speedy results and is so super fun to use! Google to your hearts content but the gorgeous Hemsley sisters (UK based food bloggers and authors) have their own one available to buy from their site or alternatively from Brown Thomas online. Owing to the fact that I have Teresa’s spiralizer for almost three months, I have now placed my order. This is a cute site to find tonnes of recipes and video demos www.inspiralized.com

Oh I almost forgot it’s dead easy to clean, happy days! If you’d like to sign up for my monthly newsletter enter your email address here. It’s as easy as that!
